On April 23, 2026, in A Luoi 2 commune, Hue city, the Centre for Rural Development in Central Vietnam (CRD) organized the Closing Workshop for the project “Promoting the Conservation of Indigenous Medicinal Plants Associated with Livelihood Improvement for Ethnic Minority Women in the A Luoi Region.”
The workshop was participated by 35 delegates representing the Commune People’s Committee, the Division of Economic Development, the Women’s Union, the Forest Protection Force, community forest management boards, and nursery groups in A Luoi 1 and A Luoi 2 communes. The activity aimed to share the project’s key achievements, assess its impacts on local livelihoods and indigenous medicinal plant conservation, and exchange lessons learned during implementation.
At the workshop, delegates discussed the advantages and challenges encountered throughout project execution; proposed solutions to maintain nursery operations, develop medicinal plant products, and enhance community participation in the coming time. Numerous practical contributions were put forward to guide future activities. In addition, the project handed over its products and deliverables to local authorities for management to ensure the continued maintenance and scaling of the model after project completion.
The workshop took place as scheduled and achieved its intended outcomes. The lively discussions provided an important basis for sustaining project achievements and fostering potential ideas in the future.
Speaking at the workshop, Ms. Ho Thi Hai, a representative from Đút 1 village, shared: “We need to maintain the nurseries, process products, and bring them to market to sustain and further develop medicinal plants. Moreover, we hope to receive continued support to replicate these nursery models.”
Through the workshop, key stakeholders reviewed the project’s implementation journey while reaffirming their commitment to ongoing coordination in conserving indigenous medicinal plant resources alongside sustainable livelihood development for ethnic minority women in the A Luoi region.
