💥The Summer School 2025 officially kicks off in Hue!
With a strong commitment to empowering the next generation in sustainable agriculture and natural resource protection, the Center for Rural Development in Central Vietnam (CRD), the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University has launched the Summer School 2025 themed “Empowering the Future: Transforming Agroforestry for Climate Resilience and Livelihoods.”
The program aims to provide participants from across Southeast Asia with in-depth knowledge of agroforestry systems—recognized as a promising solution for enhancing climate resilience, restoring ecosystems, and promoting sustainable livelihoods in rural communities.This year’s program welcomes more than 30 students and scholars from leading regional universities, including:
Prince of Songkla University (PSU), – Thailand
Kasetsart University (KU), – Thailand
Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), – Indonesia
Stiper Institute of Agriculture (INSTIPER) – Indonesia
University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University – Vietnam
The Summer School combines theoretical lectures with immersive field-based activities in local communities, where participants will directly observe, engage in discussions, and propose context-based solutions. It also serves as a platform for cross-cultural exchange and future collaboration between young people from Vietnam and other countries.
On July 10, the opening day at the University of Agriculture and Forestry was filled with excitement and enthusiasm. Organizers delivered inspirational messages about the critical role of youth in transforming sustainable agricultural systems. In-depth presentations on the impacts of climate change, adaptive farming models, and sustainable forestry practices in Vietnam offered valuable insights for all participants.
It is expected that the Summer School 2025 will not just a course but an experiential journey and an open space for connection, learning, and cultivating shared values for a sustainable future among TALENT’s universities..The activity is within the framework of the Sustainable Landscape Management Program (Talent Program), funded by the French agricultural research and international cooperation organization (CIRAD).
