The awards ceremony of Love Ambassador letter writing competition taking place on 28 December 2018 at Thuy Phu Secondary School has marked the end of the journey searching for representative voice of children against violence.
The competition aimed at secondary school students in Huong Thuy Town was co-organized by the Center for Rural Development in Central Vietnam (CRD) and the Department of Education and Training of Huong Thuy within the framework of the project “Strengthening the capacity of social organizations on child rights governance” funded by Save the Children.
The competition, themed “Imagine you are a Love Ambassador, write to letter to answer the question: Why a world without violence against children is the best place to live?”, attracted 1,738 letters from secondary pupils. The letters expressed viewpoints and attitudes of the children towards violence and conveyed many meaningful messages, such as “Heaven from tender hearts”; “Violence is helplessness”, “I just want to live in a normal family” and so on, 24 letters among which were selected, compiled and published into a book title “Love Ambassadors”. 12 best little writers were also honored and awarded in the ceremony.
Also, in the ceremony, the 120 paged humanistic and heart-touching book “Love Ambassadors” was also introduced to and warmly received by the students.
