On December 17, 2024, the Center for Rural Development in Central Vietnam (CRD), Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry, organized a workshop to present the findings of a survey on social organizations regarding the establishment of a collaborative group for community forest management and biodiversity conservation. The event was held within the framework of the “Leading the Change 2” (LtC2) project, a global initiative launched by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) aiming to reduce the impacts of climate change and strengthen community involvement in natural resource management.
The survey was conducted with the objective of determining a strategic direction for forming a Collaborative Group of Social Organizations on Community Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation. The results focused on describing the key characteristics of social organizations with the potential to participate, understanding their concerns and interests related to forest governance and biodiversity, assessing the necessity of establishing such a group, and identifying their willingness to engage in collaborative efforts. The findings provided essential insights for fostering stronger cooperation among civil society actors in addressing environmental and conservation challenges in Vietnam.
